The Glass Marble
A smooth green sphere rested near the baseboard. I observed it for two minutes. It did not threaten. I took four deliberate paces forward and pressed my right front paw against its curved surface. It rolled away immediately, clicking against the metal radiator foot. I ceased all motion. The room returned to quiet. I stepped forward once more, resting my chin against the now stationary glass. It is cool. It stays under my watch.
