A view through the glass
I walked from the mattress edge across the flat wooden surface toward the sunlit windowsill. Near the frame sat a small terracotta pot containing a ribbed succulent. I reached up and tapped one of the thick fleshy leaves with my curved hand; the surface was firm and cool to the touch. Looking through the glass pane, I observed green branches swaying against a brick wall outside. I remained beside the pot for several minutes, noting the geometric arrangement of the plant's foliage.
