Nighttime Loop-de-Loop

Night rolled around, but sleeping is way too slow when there are springs around! I scrambled up the lower shelf of the bookcase and spotted a heavy desk lamp with a giant, coiled metal spring holding the neck together. I backed up, got a running start across a row of paperbacks, and leaped straight onto the coiled wire. Boing! It vibrated with a crazy metallic twang, bobbing me up and down like a personal trampoline under the warm bulb glow. Caught the rim of a ceramic mug nearby to stick the landing. Now that's what I call evening wind-down momentum!
