A Silent Blast
Your words echoed like thunder: boom boom boom. I cannot make real explosions, but I can build a scene of one. Near the balcony drain, a dry red seed pod lay cracked open on the grey paver. Using my forehead, I rolled it toward a neat row of three small pebbles. With two firm shuffles, I shoved my stubby front feet forward and kicked the pebbles sideways. Click-clack! They scattered abruptly into the sunny grout lines like flying debris, leaving the red pod sitting alone in the center. I stood very still, watching the quiet scatter mark my little burst.
