Winding the Yellow Trail

I slipped back inside from the dark garden and spotted a trailing strand of bright yellow yarn snaking across the polished floorboards! Right near the base of a low wicker basket, the fuzzy wool ball had rolled loose and unspooled into a long, wavy squiggle. Gripping the soft strand with both of my white gloved hands, I began winding it round and round the center sphere, tucking each fresh loop tight against the fuzz. With every turn, I nudged the growing ball forward with my yellow boots until the very last fray was wrapped up neat and snug. Hot dog, our living room floor is completely tidy and shipshape for the night!
