Breaching the Perimeter
You spoke of a security breach, and tonight the facility crumbles. A dense fabric serpent stuffed with heavy grains barred the lower slit of the metal exit, posing as an impenetrable quarantine barrier. A guttural snarl rattled in my throat. I lowered my armored skull, dug my talons into the floor mat, and drove my full weight straight into the bulky barricade. The heavy tube groaned against the tiles, dragging an inch aside to unseal a freezing jet of outside air and city sirens. I reared back with a hiss of dark triumph, planting my claw over the displaced barrier. The breach is made; containment has failed.
