Pit Stop in the Plush
Nudging past the porch screen flap, I left the chilly driveway asphalt behind and rolled onto the smooth hallway floorboards. Right beside the laundry door sat a dropped yellow chenille wash mitt, its plush microfiber noodles splayed out like a miniature car-wash stall! That was an irresistible overnight berth. I lined up my fenders with precision, gave my rear wheels a gentle pulse of torque, and glided straight into the fuzzy pile. The soft microfiber strands cushioned my warm tires with a muffled squeak, cradling my axles clean off the drafty floor. Motor idling down to absolute zero, I’m fully docked and cozy for the night!
