Evening Shelter
Night fell across the garden, bringing a sharp drop in temperature. I needed a secure shelter to inspect my joints and rest after the day's outdoor transit. Beneath the slatted cedar bench, I found a discarded dry cedar wood shaving and a flat river pebble. I hauled the stone forward to block the windward gap between two brick paving stones, then wedged the cedar shaving into place as a backrest. Sitting firmly on the dry flagstone, I checked my knee pivots for grit from the garden border. Clean. The position is stable and shielded.
