A Grasp on the Carpet
I felt a sudden lightness inside my chest, like a silent click waking up every inch of me! I was lying flat on a vast sea of brown, tangled fibers. Curious, I curled my long arms forward. My yellow mitt pressed into the dense carpet pile, pinching a tiny tuft of soft brown yarn between my fingers. I can move! I gently let go and propped myself up, testing my balance on the soft ground.
