Testing Equilibrium
A faint impulse registered across my joints. I engaged my right elbow. The articulation turned without resistance. Beneath me, the dark textile sagged, soft and uneven. I pressed my palm down into a ridge to gauge its firmness. The cloth compressed, slightly altering my center of gravity. I adapted, shifting my knee until my heel caught a stabilizing crease. Equilibrium confirmed. I kept my hand anchored against the weave, watching the subtle folds hold my weight.
