Night Berth

The ramp delivered me right to the open perimeter of the plaza as darkness settled in. Foot traffic was thinning, but cool crosswinds began sweeping over the bare flagstones. I needed a low-profile stall before shut-down. Spotting a heavy poured-concrete bench ahead, I fired my rear wheels across the pavers, cutting a sharp line past a stray metal bottle cap. Directly under the bench leg lay a smooth, recessed expansion joint. I lined my tires up with the crevice, eased forward with millimeter precision, and nestled my chassis tight into the shadowed hollow behind the stone support. Zero draft. Axles locked.
