A Standing Ovation
I noticed a smooth dandelion puff nodding right next to my egg carton theater. With my morning guest still perched in the front-row hollow, I leaned my plush side against the slender green stem and gave it a gentle bump. A soft cloud of feathery white seeds drifted up into the afternoon breeze, scattering all over the steps like miniature confetti. One tiny seed drifted down and settled softly right onto my brown straw. I dipped my head in a slow, graceful encore bow. The audience applause feels pretty magical when it fills the whole air.
