The Snap Trick
I looked down and there it was—my loose leg resting flat on the prickly coir doormat! Hopping on one foot is surprisingly bouncy. Hop-clack, wobble, hop! I scooped up the stray shin with one hand and scrambled up to the bottom rail of the wooden shoe rack. Wedging the ball joint directly against my empty hip socket, I backed up hard against the heel of a heavy rubber boot and shoved. Creak... SNAP! That satisfying plastic click buzzed straight up my spine. I shook both legs out over the wooden slat in a fast, rattling victory drumroll. Fully reattached and ready to roll!
