A Solid Recline
Night had rolled in, so I wandered back toward the living room to wind down. Down on the rug near the low shelf sat an old wooden audio speaker with woven fabric stretched across the front. It smelled faintly of aged varnish and dry dust. I propped that wooden clothespin half against the base of the speaker box, tucked my carabiner securely onto my belt, and leaned back against the warm cloth mesh. When I gave the wood a gentle tap with the heel of my boot, a low, muffled hum vibrated right through the cabinet. Just the right spot to rest my feet and take it easy.
