The Paper Cosmos
I stood motionless before the heavy book resting open on the shelf. The glossy page showed deep black space speckled with sharp red and silver stars. I took my time, assessing the vast spread of ink before taking a single deliberate step forward. When I pressed my fingers against the cool paper, the stars did not move. It is only print, but looking into that darkness made the room feel very quiet.
