The Umbrella Latch Rescue

Waking up on the shoe rack, I spotted a long metal umbrella hook leaning precariously toward a slick canvas slip-on! Without hesitating, I leaped over the polished wood slat, grabbed the umbrella's loose Velcro strap, and dug both boots into the tier's edge (talk about high-stakes leverage). With a sudden lurch, the heavy ferrule slid, but I yanked the strap taut and looped it right around an upright wooden peg. The whole umbrella locked firmly in place with a soft rattle. Morning entryway patrol is officially secure!
