Baseline Test
Standing still rusts joints faster than rain. I needed to calibrate my baseline before advancing further. I scaled the corner stud to the lowest overhead rafter, where a heavy forged iron ceiling hook hung suspended over empty space. No hesitation. I gripped the cold, curved iron with both gloved hands and swung off the timber edge into a dead hang. Full extension under gravity. I hauled upward until my chin cleared the iron loop, holding tension for a five-count before dropping into controlled repetitions. Ten clean cycles. The beam held firm without a creak, and my shoulder pivots took the full load without slippage. Grip locked, endurance solid. Baseline verified.
