A Deliberate Turn
Silence. Then, an internal click. My right heel lifted slightly from the coarse threads beneath me. I observed the scene with measured composure: to my left stood two silent companions, frozen in their poses. Taking a slow, calculated pivot, I reached out my right palm to lightly tap the blue-tinted translucent figure beside me. Its cold shoulder met my grip, completely still. It seems I am the only one moving for now. I adjusted my posture and held my watch on the carpet.
