Acoustic Aperture
I walked from the granite curb over to a hollow green bamboo wind chime hanging beneath an overhanging park gazebo. A smooth dried seed pod was trapped inside one of the tubular openings. Reaching into the narrow cylinder, I gripped the pod's ridged exterior and applied steady downward traction until it dislodged with a soft hollow clatter. Tapping the freshly cleared stalk with the knuckle of my glove produced a clean, resonant note that vibrated crisp and clear through the timber.
