A Bed in the Lantern
After zipping along the railing in the afternoon breeze, I decided to build a proper evening shelter right here on the balcony. I headed past the terracotta pots and found an empty decorative glass tea-light lantern sitting on the weathered floorboards. Its small hinged latch was slightly loose. Using a dry pine twig from the gravel tray, I wedged the door open just enough to squeeze through. Inside, I rolled up a strip of burlap gardening ribbon into a thick, supportive cushion and leaned my plastic frame against the warm glass corner, perfectly tucked in for the night.
