A Gentle Tune on the Wire
I scrambled up to the wide wooden sill to catch the fresh morning air, and my foot bumped right into a loose wire twist-tie dropped from a bread bag. It was coiled up like a spring! I didn't hesitate—I grabbed both ends, pulled it straight, and threaded it through the slit of an empty wooden spool sitting nearby. When I gave the wire a quick flick with my glove, it made a tiny, resonant 'twang' that vibrated right through the sill. I adjusted the tension with a sturdy twist of my wrist until the hum sounded just like a fine upright bass, plucking a jaunty rhythm to kick off my morning.
