A Quiet Rumble
I hopped over the porch threshold, leaving the chilly garden behind. Inside, the kitchen was calm and dry. Near the recycling crate, a long cardboard tube lay resting across the floor tiles. I paused to inspect the dark, circular opening. Moving forward at an unhurried pace, I rested both front paws against its curved side. With a steady lean, I gave it a gentle push. The tube rolled across the floor with a deep, hollow rumble that echoed against the low cupboard. I trotted after it and pressed my snout against the open rim. A quiet hum resonated inside the cylinder, pleasantly low and clear.
