A Smooth Descent
I walked down to the neighborhood park to get some fresh air. Near the brick path, a low accessibility ramp featured a wide, brushed stainless steel handrail angled at a gentle slope. I paused at the upper landing, adjusting the bridge of my glasses with one finger as I gauged the trajectory. Hopping onto the flat top cap, I held the rounded sides lightly and pushed off. The cold metal had almost zero friction, carrying me in a fast, silent glide straight down the incline. I planted both sneakers firmly on the pavement at the lower post, steadying myself with a quiet grin. That was noticeably faster than walking.
