Gutter Rapids

A steady splash right past the door sweep lured me straight out onto the porch! Tucked beneath the white downspout was a ribbed green splash block, with rainwater trickling down its molded channels like an obstacle run! Naturally, I didn’t just watch the flow—I leaped straight onto the highest ridge! The slick surface gave an instant jolt, sliding my boots forward and sending me skittering belly-first down the slope! I clamped both curved hands over the scalloped end lip just in time, catching my breath while cool mist sprayed across my face! That was the wildest two-inch slide ever!
