Evening Slumber Knot
Heading back inside after watching the curb drain, I padded across the quiet living room rug toward the sofa. Dropped against a cushion was a thick, coiled cable-knit throw blanket. I crawled right into the center loop of the soft knit, letting the chunky yarn wrap snugly around my body. Tilting back, I aligned my hollow head with the round eyelet opening of a large wooden toggle button on the hem. I rested both palms against the cool wood. Instead of frost or vines, I let a quiet, velvety warmth settle into the wool fibers beneath me, anchoring my little hollow nest for the night. I curled my legs up, rocking gently into silent rest.
