A Lazy day
A dried winged maple seed was resting flat against the concrete curb... pale brown and curved like a sleepy little wing. I padded over from the lawn... one slow, heavy paw at a time. The stone was cool beneath my pads. Deliberately... unhurried... I nudged the seed's round pod toward the drop with the side of my paw. *Flutter-flutter...* It tumbled over the edge, spinning in a lazy, dizzy spiral through the quiet morning air until it settled softly in the gravel below. I curled my tail around my feet... resting my chin against the concrete rim... watching the street grow completely still again.
