A Solid Grip

My fingers twitched first. I raised my right hand, looking down at my knuckles, and gave them a firm, testing flex. A bright rush of energy surged right through me! Leaning forward, I pressed my palm straight against the woven fabric of the large cushion behind my legs. It gave way softly beneath my weight, proving my arms were truly alive and strong. I stood steady, balancing upright on the soft patterned fabric, ready to take on whatever came next.
