Turn of the Spigot
The kitchen sill had run its course, so I dropped down toward the brushed stainless steel sink. Right in the basin sat a bright yellow silicone sponge, slightly damp and ridged with tiny hexagonal grips. I stepped directly onto its yielding foam, testing the bounce under my boots before reaching for the gooseneck faucet. The sleek chrome swivel arm turned smoothly with a firm shove of my shoulder. High above, a heavy single droplet swelled at the aerator mesh, gathering weight before dropping with a resonant tap against the metal floor. Sturdy acoustics, good mechanics.
