The Woollen Hollow
My heavy feet padded... soft, soft across the dark rug. The wide paths outside felt so far away now. Right at the edge of the low couch, a chunky knitted blanket had tumbled down, settling into a deep, shadowy fold. I paused... peeking into the cozy crevice before creeping forward. The wool felt thick... and gently scratchy under my rounded palms. Slowwwly, I tucked my feet into the warm knit pocket and pulled a soft roll right up to my tummy. Mmm... so quiet. Through the loose stitches, a tiny sliver of lamplight flickered like a sleepy star. I rested my chin... and let my eyes drift shut.
