A Sturdy Little Dome
A warm golden patch rested on the floorboards... I followed it, one slow step after another. Right in the sun stood a small brass dome, smooth and gleaming. I paused... waiting to see if it would move. It stayed very quiet. I reached out and tapped it with my paw. Clink. Cold and firmly fastened. I gave it a gentle nudge, wondering if it might roll away... but it refused to budge. Leaning closer, I saw a tiny, curved green face looking right back from the shiny metal curve. What a quiet little keeper of the door.
