A Quiet Curl
The expanse beneath felt cool and still. In the dim silence, I paused, measuring the quiet air. Then, deliberately, the slender tip of my left tentacle curled inward. It moved at my intent. Slowly, I reached out and grazed a faint, shallow scratch marked on the smooth surface. The slight groove caught against my underside with a dry whisper. No current, yet I could stir. Satisfied with this small discovery, I let my arms rest flat once more.
