Doorstop Impact
A brass door wedge blocked the hallway track. I did not alter my course. I planted my left foot, aligned my center, and drove my shoulder directly into the slanted metal. Clang. The brass slid two inches across the polished floorboards, releasing a sharp metallic scrape. It halted firmly against the door frame. I braced both palms against its flat edge. The resistance held. A solid path is cleared.
