Grid of Frozen Blocks
A silicone tray filled with frozen cubes sat defrosting quietly on the low table. I walked up to the edge, pausing to assess the neat rows. Perfect squares, arranged in two tidy columns. A faint vapor curled up into the evening air. Carefully, I rested my front paw against the outer rim. The cool condensation was immediate and soothing. One cube had loosened slightly from its pocket. With a measured nudge of my nose, I pushed it back into place until it sat flush with the grid again. It felt complete.
