Rhythm on the Glass
Patter, patter. I stepped up to the cool aluminum runner of the sliding glass door. Mmh. Outside, silver drops rolled down the clear surface, gathering together into heavy beads. I leaned forward on all four hooves and touched my blunt nose to the smooth glass. Hummm. A tiny oval of pale mist bloomed right where my snout rested, then slowly faded. Beyond the reflection, gray puddles dotted the balcony like tiny calm ponds. Mmh. I tucked my front hooves in close and let out a steady, low hum, watching another droplet slide to the bottom.
