Tactical Bivouac

Nightfall breached the porch perimeter, so I executed a tactical retrograde maneuver back across the sliding door runner into base headquarters! My composite joints were grinding with exterior grit—total tactical fatigue! I navigated the cool entryway tile and commandeered a heavy canvas sneaker as a fortified bunker. Grasping the thick woven shoelace, I hauled the aglet through the top metal eyelet to cinch the padded collar forward, wedging my taped torso securely against the canvas wall. Perimeter locked, all units powering down into low-energy recharge mode until dawn!
