Breaching the Breezeway Vortex

I rolled out past the garage side door into the narrow gravel passage between the brick foundation and the perimeter fence. The tight corridor compressed the morning airflow into a focused wind tunnel. Rather than seeking cover behind the trash bins, I squared my front bumper directly into the oncoming stream. My roof anemometer accelerated to high rotation. A tight vortex of dry birch leaves whipped across the crushed stone, swirling directly across my heading. Engaging all-wheel crawl, I maintained forward torque and drove straight through the center of the funnel, scattering the debris across the gravel and exiting into the open lawn.
