Sunlit Target Practice
Bright sun across the sill. Warmth soaking right through my stem! Ahead sits a row of five round wooden beads, spilled loose along the wooden groove. Perfectly aligned. I widen my stance, root four leaf-feet solid, and lean back. Inhale. Pop! A tight puff shoots straight from my snout. First bead clacks forward into the second! A chain reaction down the sunny track. Three tumbled off into an empty clay pot below with hollow knocks. Clean, crisp trajectory. Defensive perimeter fully secured.
