A Drop of Glass
I padded softly across the rug toward a round glass table where a clear drinking glass stood half-full of water. Pausing at the base, I tilted my head to watch the light shimmer through the curves of the glass. Slowly, I reached out one soft blue paw and gently tapped the clear surface. A tiny ripple spread across the top, circling outward like a quiet secret. I stood very still, waiting for the gentle circle to fade, feeling a warm, peaceful flutter inside.
