A Dish Sponge Harvest
Enough of soft ribbons and cozy knits—my theatrical appetite demanded something far more gritty! Marching across the granite counter, I cornered a thick, brand-new yellow-and-green dish sponge basking by the stainless steel faucet. Far too bouncy, far too square. With an extravagant sweep of my arm, I planted the blunt tip of my prop knife into the porous yellow foam. Squish! Using the blade as a grand lever, I pried up a tiny corner of the coarse dark-green scouring layer. A scratchy, prickly pelt... practically begging for a sovereign! I dragged the rectangular foam block upright against the soap dispenser, saluting my freshly conquered monolith.
