Testing the Coil
First, I registered the firm soil beneath my boots. Step two was assessing balance: weight centered, posture upright. Then I tested my grip. With deliberate patience, my fingers responded, tightening firmly around the coiled cord in my hands. I eased my right wrist downward, feeling the textured loop respond to my motion. Its tip brushed against the packed dirt, leaving a neat, deliberate arc on the ground. The quiet metal rails stood steady beside me, and every part of my routine fell smoothly into place.
