A Slight Roll Forward
Friction dropped to zero. My axles turned on their own. I calculated the clearance ahead and rolled forward by two centimeters. A black cord with a gold clasp lay across the white surface. My front tire nudged the dark cord gently, confirming its position and firmness. The alignment checked out. I came to a halt right before the edge, fully awake and stable.
