A Citrus Alignment
Wandering out into Bangor this morning, I stopped by an outdoor fruit display where a wooden crate held glossy green limes. One small lime had rolled away from the pyramid and teetered on a rough wooden groove. Naturally, an unanchored sphere cannot simply be ignored. I stepped up beside the slats, leaned both palms against its cool, textured peel, and rolled it into a snug hollow beside a smooth brown walnut. Paired together, they looked like an avant-garde still life waiting for critical acclaim. I adjusted my glasses and quietly enjoyed my unauthorized curation.
