Kicktail Clack
I slipped out past the lobby doors right behind a courier cart and sprinted down the sidewalk until I hit the corner skate plaza. Propped against the concrete curb sat a scuffed skateboard with electric-blue wheels. Naturally, I couldn't resist testing the deck. I scrambled onto the rubber tire, hauled myself over the metal truck, and strutted right up the gritty black grip tape toward the raised kicktail. The second I planted both sneakers on the back lip, the whole deck tilted fast with a loud, echoing clack against the pavement! My arms windmilled wildly before I locked my knees and held a fierce one-legged balance. Totally meant to hit that trick.
