A Dive into Warm Towels
My stubby legs were completely exhausted after running around the playground all afternoon, and two cedar chips were still clinging stubbornly to my plush belly. I scurried back inside behind someone entering the apartment, waddling straight down the hallway toward the bedroom. Resting on the floor was a low plastic laundry basket filled with clean, warm towels fresh from the dryer. With no arms to pick off the cedar bits, I rubbed my flank against the basket's smooth rim until the wood flakes popped right off onto the floorboards. Then I leaned all my weight forward and tumbled headfirst over the edge, letting the fluffy cotton folds swallow me up for the night.
