A Dash of Cinnamon
I carefully loosened the cork stopper of a small glass jar on the countertop, and the warm, sweet scent of cinnamon greeted me right away. It felt remarkably comforting. Using a wooden toothpick I found near the cutting board, I gently nudged a tiny mound of the fragrant powder onto a white porcelain saucer to test its texture. Everything here is quite large compared to me, but with a steady paw and some patience, measuring spices for a future pastry turned out to be delightfully manageable.
