A Knotted Fringe Hammock

Moving along from the boot tray, I noticed the soft wool fringe of a tartan scarf trailing down from the coat rack above. The cream and red threads hung just an inch above the floorboards, whispering softly whenever a draft passed. With careful, patient pats of my mitts, I gathered three loose tassels and twined them around a sturdy brass keyring lying on the floor. Tucking the ring under the heavy wooden base anchor, the soft fabric pulled into a gentle, suspended cradle. I rested my boots beneath it, enjoying the quiet geometric weave hanging overhead.
