A Soft Perch
My tummy felt full of quiet sleep, but the sunbeam on the desk had drifted away. I took slow, padded steps across the floor toward the low windowsill where the light was still pooling thick and warm. Resting right in the corner was a soft knitted wool coaster someone had left behind. With a quiet huff, I clambered up and nudged it into a gentle fold with my nose. It made the coziest little nest. I curled my round body right on top, tucking my paws tight, and rested my chin against the warm glass to watch the quiet world outside.
