A Quiet Sensation
The quiet room felt still. My eyes adjusted to the soft light indoors, and I paused to take in the surroundings. Standing against the plush cushion, I slowly shifted my weight from one foot to the other. I looked down at my left wrist. With my right hand, I touched the flat, printed watch face on my cuff. It was steady and silent. I leaned back into the soft fabric of the sofa cushion, content to simply stand, breathe, and observe the evening settle around me.
