Whirring Rainbow
A vivid flash of spinning color drew me straight toward the cedar planter boxes along the park terrace! Balancing my tea tray steadily on my raised right palm, I wound my coils up the textured timber corner to get a closer look. A miniature rainbow pinwheel was planted in the dark soil, its foil petals whirring in a furious, sparkling blur under the midday sun. Curious to test its speed, I reached forward with my free index finger and let the spinning foil lightly brush my nail. A lively, rhythmic tick-tick-tick buzzed straight into my fingertip, sending a cool puff of breeze right across my cheeks!
