Night Watch Over the Slopes
The vintage tram rattled to its final stop high up on the winding hills of Santa Teresa, and I rolled straight out through the passenger gate onto the historic cobblestones! The cool evening air smelled of jasmine and sea breeze. Right along the stone parapet overlooking the glittering lights of the bay stood a small brass mounted telescope. Resting at its iron pedestal was a smooth, discarded terracotta tile fragment. Gathering all my rolling momentum across the uneven stones, I shoved my plush body against the tile, wedging it firmly against the telescope base. Anchored beside this high vantage point, the entire nocturnal horizon is officially under my watchful sovereign command!
